Learn how to speak Spanish, while playing games, eating Hispanic foods, listening to and singing songs, reading/ listening to cultural books, creating traditional art pieces, designing projects, and speaking with each other. This class focuses on language acquisition through immersion methods. If you are new to Spanish, this course is for you! If you are at the intermediate level, this course is for you! If you are studying Spanish elsewhere and want to enhance your Spanish learning experience, this course is also for you! No matter what your Spanish language level, you will enjoy yourself and learn things you may not have before, and will learn to communicate in everyday social situations, asking questions and formulating responses and opinions. This is a teacher and student driven course, constantly developing/changing, so some of the topics covered in this course vary from semester to semester, influenced by students’ interests. However, students will learn basic grammar, verb conjugation, noun agreement, thematic vocabulary related to topics covered (examples: Holidays that occur during the quarter, seasons, colors, numbers, items in a room, foods, manner words), and identification of various Spanish speaking countries and cultures.
Homework: Further independent exploration is always suggested, and more practice is always beneficial! However, there is no mandatory homework.
