Why work with clay? Because, creating art with clay is a great way for students to improve fine motor skills and dexterity, build an understanding of 3-dimensional shapes, improve connections in the brain, and allows children an avenue for self-expression and much more!
Each project will be done in 2 classes. First students will sculpt the clay, and then the week after students will paint their sculptures and learn some painting techniques like dry brush. For the painting class please bring and apron or an old T-shirt, since paint does not come out of cloth.

For the next artificial sculpture challenge, students will create a rocket ship while learning how to distribute weight and how to use wire armour to hold a sculpture structure.
