Spring: 10 weeks: $324 or $314 if taking 2 or more classes
Enter the exploratory world of science with Miss Debbie as we use hands-on projects, activites, games, experiments, books and more to explore 9 different science topics over 3 years of Science Explorers! This suite of classes is designed in 3 year cycles, so that you can take this class 3 times and never learn the same science subject twice! All new activities & themes each year! This year Miss Debbie will be coving classes in Matter, Geology and finishing up with Biomes and Insects. Once students have completed Science Explorers, they can move into Debbies next class called Science Investigators, which has also been designed in a 3 year cycle to cover 9 science topics!
Fall: Measure That Matter!
Measure that Matter is a special hands-on science course with Quest in Science. It is designed to stimulate curiosity, interest and skills in science and to introduce your child to the world of chemistry. During our activities together, the students will: learn to measure mass, temperature, volume, investigate the states of matter, perform “Mysterious Mixtures” to observe how some liquids interact, use cabbage juice to make an acid/base indicator and solve a “Powder-ful” Mystery. Students will keep a science folder for all their work related to our science studies that will go home with them each week and can be used for their evidence of science for your records!
It is time for an adventure on the planet Earth! Each rockhound (student) will have their own pet to join them on our adventure, a pet rock! They will learn all about their pets as we investigate how and where the rocks were formed and from what materials they are made. They will describe the properties of rocks and classify them based on their properties. The Rockhounds will examine how much water different kinds of earth materials can hold and which kind is best for plants to stay healthy and green. We will learn to appreciate how important the materials that make up our planet are to our lives and our future! Come join us and let the adventure begin!
