In this interdisciplinary class, we will use Science as our main subject, and then learn about math & language arts related to our subject along with fun art classes to help us to fall in love with science! We'll start our day with reading aloud about our Subject. For Outer Space, we'll learn new vocabulary like "geocentric", "galaxy" and more when we read What Is The Solar System? We'll learn about the planets in our Solar system, incorporating the ideas of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and more as we count the planets. We'll learn how BIG the earth is and how far away the sun is. We'll create a fun art project about the planets in our Solar System, and watch a short video to help us learn how amazing our Solar System really is! In this way, we'll integrate math concepts, writing practice and art into each subject we learn about. And since kids learn best through games, we'll be playing them throughout the session to help us remember all of our Fun Facts, Bingo & Matching games will help us with reading, and we'll practice writing every week. Some students will write a word and some students will write a sentence. It's all fun when we're learning about science!
Using a variety of fascinating books, we will incorporate demonstrations, experiments, art projects and more! We will learn about your skeleton, muscles, senses, your brain, lungs, digestion and teeth! Children will have a better understanding of how their bodies work, with activities that are engaging and help retain what we study!
