Reading & Practicing Leadership in Mindfulness

Ages 6-9 years

Thursday 9:30am - 11am (Winter and Spring Quarters)

Stories are the most effective way to teach social emotional skills at an age when children are still forming values.  In this class we focus on developing our reading/ writing/ critical thinking and personal application skills with books that help children infer, contemplate and develop strong social emotional skills.

Topics will include age appropriate books on self confidence, standing up for oneself and others, the self nurture responsibility, overcoming big emotions, understanding emotions in others, overcoming fears, bullying, diversity, friendship and much more.  This class will offer the opportunity for reading aloud and discussion of these life-essential topics with their peers; providing the essential setting for developing a deeper understanding of individuality, diversity and empathy.
