Clay & 3D Art!

Ages 6-9 & 9-12

Prerequisites:  Must be able to get dirty!

Clay & 3D Art - Ages 6-9:

Our Clay & 3D Art class for children aged 6 to 9 offers an exciting hands-on experience with clay and sculpture. Young artists will practice various hand-building techniques like pinch, coil, and slab construction, creating functional pieces like cups, bowls, and vases, as well as sculptural art. They'll also delve into the basics of wheel-throwing, learning to center clay and raise cylinder shapes. Exploring shape, texture, and pattern using an array of modeling tools, this class encourages children to unleash their creativity and craft their own three-dimensional masterpieces.

Clay & 3D Art - Ages 9-12:

In our Clay & 3D Art class designed for children aged 9 to 12, young artists take their pottery and sculpting skills to new heights. Students will throw vessels on the pottery wheel, increasing the size, shape complexity, and wall thickness of their creations. They'll realize intricate sculptural and functional clay artwork using multiple construction methods. This class also involves the study of 3D design concepts and ceramic artists to inspire unique creations. To complete their artwork, students will learn about various finishing techniques such as carving and slip trailing. This class is a gateway to exploring the limitless possibilities of clay and 3D art, nurturing young artists to become true masters of their craft
