March Into The Middle Ages

This class offers an in depth, hands-on view of the Middle Ages from the fall of the Roman Empire in 476 AD through the beginnings of the Renaissance. Students investigate everyday medieval life, what people ate and drank, what they wore, and where the lived. They also learn about medieval science, medicine, inventions, education, art, and business, along with the history of the Church, the Crusades, Vikings, knights, and medieval battles and wars. This class is designed to teach students through kinesthetic means, utilizing the senses and motor skills with several hands on activities every day. In addition, a series of dramatized audio tours will take the students through a medieval castle, a Viking village, a monastery, the battle of Hastings, and more.
