Our final objective of this class will be to film a short film with everyone acting in it! To do this, we will work on monologues and small scenes first. This will help them learn how to act in front of the camera. During this time I will select a play that matches the interests of the group that we can put into a movie after we are done with scenes. We will read the play in class, and students will be able to volunteer for specific parts. As all of the parts will have to be cast, it may be that not everyone gets their first preference for a part. I do not create costumes, but I provide ideas for parents. I make it as simple as possible, and while costumes are recommended they are not required. After we are done shooting the movie I will edit it and send it to families to watch! If we finish early - we watch it during the last class, making notes on what could have been done differently or better. The movie is usually about 10-15 minutes long.
