This class will seek to instill confidence in one’s ability to maintain a home for him or herself through learning basic home/life skills. These traditional skills, a must have for my great, grand parents living through the depression when everything was repurposed and nothing wasted, were passed on to me through my grandmother. These essential skills have recently been neglected in the education of our youth; with young adults not knowing the very basics before leaving the nest. Knowing that he or she can patch a nail hole or paint a table, design a floor-plan, look for safety devices, how to shut off water in an emergency, unclog a garbage disposal, cook a meal with what's on hand, etc. Knowing these skills will give him or her confidence to tackle life's little and big problems - Today an Ikea cube, tomorrow an entire entertainment center...
