THREE HOUR CLASS; HALF LECTURE & HALF LAB
Time: 9:30 - 12:30 (short break in between lecture and labs)
Ages: 13+ (this is a high school level class with a full year of Biology taught in one semester)
Mat Fee: $30
Teacher: Georgina Bek

This biology course will utilize projects, powerpoints, quizzes, essays, group tests, games and discussions as well as wet and dry labs and dissection labs to learn all about biology! We will cover topics of
the animal kingdom,
human physiology and anatomy
This is a fairly fast paced class as we will be covering one year of biology in one semester. Instead of having the class twice a week, we are offering this once a week for 3 hours. This enables us to offer wet and dry labs in every class. Students will be required to work in teams to complete lab assignments which must be written up in scientific format. Wet labs will include microscope work including looking at prepared slides and creation of slides of their own cells (always a hit!), meiosis, mitosis and much more. Students will work in teams on their dissections. Those that are not interested in performing the dissection can perform online dissections and pass on the actual dissection, but everyone will participate in the lab reports.
Georgia Bek hails to HuckleBerry from UCLA, and has taught 6th - 9th grade science classes in private schools, including High School Biology with dissections of fetal pigs. She is excited to join HuckleBerry and share her love of science with our students while she works on obtaining her Master's Degree at UCLA.
