Week 1 & 2: Introduction to intermediate drawing tools to recreate pictures of animals provided. Practice how to make a breakdown drawing on a scratch sheet of paper using a shapes approach. Develop your drawing structure and form by overlapping shapes. Plan your composition on the paper that has a focal point or center of interest. Use angles to measure placement and relationship between parts of drawing. Then check your work by turning your picture upside down! Finish drawing with detailed line and texture so the drawing reads where you want the viewer’s eye to go to first. Blending, layering and shading with chalk pastels will be the icing on the cake in getting to know these drawing skills.
