Conversational Spanish
Ages: 9 and Up
Prerequisites: For students with prior Spanish knowledge who want to build confidence through speaking, writing, and fun! Students will really need to be comfortable with speaking and making mistakes! It's the only way to learn a new language!

Homework: Homework assignments are required and will help reinforce the lessons learned in class.

In this class, students will strengthen their Spanish skills by practicing real-life conversations in familiar, everyday settings. We will play with conversations (Where is the table, Where is the bathroom, Do you like this book?), build our vocabulary with flashcards and sentence forming cards, matching games and more! Designed for learners who already know some Spanish basics. We will work to expand vocabulary to include not just regular nouns and verbs, but will add in adjectives and additional verbs, work on improving grammar, and develop fluency. Fluency comes with repetition, so we will play games like shopping at the store, going to the park, show and tell and more where we will have to repeat numbers, ask for common goods and so much more!

Some days we will listen to short conversations from a Spanish video to increase our comprehension. We will also do very light reading to reinforce our vocabulary. We will also continue with using a workbook that will give us more writing practice.
Conversation Themes
Students will explore practical vocabulary, verbs, and expressions through fun, themed conversation settings, such as:

-
Fun games to review vocabulary and sentence building

-
Ongoing grammar support in a natural, conversational context
This is not just a conversation class—it’s a space where students apply what they know, learn to express themselves more clearly, and enjoy using Spanish in ways that matter to them. Whether they’re ordering a snack, watching a movie, or planning a park day, students will grow in their ability to speak with confidence.
