This age group will be given more advanced projects then the younger group. In the Spring Session we will cover yet another 5 Art Masters from History such as Cassatt, Mondrian, and Rockwell. Besides learning about who they were, students do exercises and projects based on the artist’s styles and techniques. We also talk more in depth about design, color, and art theory. Between learning about the Masters, students will get to experiment with a variety of other art projects. I often choose subjects that students want to learn about. We will also do one seasonal craft.

In Art Projects II, students build drawing and painting skills as well as learn from Art History. The class will continue to study famous artists such as Johannes Vermeer, Piet Mondrian, Auguste Renoir, and Claude Monet. The young artists will experiment with different art materials learning from the famous artist's techniques. A variety of subjects may be chosen according to the interests of the students. Please note that this class is different from the Art Projects I class because the subjects and hands on artwork are a bit more complex due to age group. In the fall 2019 Session students studied artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Rosa Bonheur, and Pablo Picasso. Some projects they worked on were country landscapes, animals, ocean scenes, flowers, and abstract art. On some days the class will do fun crafts that are seasonal. We will also touch on color theory and design concepts.
