ASL 1B: Spring
This course is part 2 of 2 that introduces the fundamental elements of American Sign Language. Students will be exposed to elements of deaf culture and learn the basics of American Sign Language. Upon completion, students will be able to explain their surroundings and give and receive directions, as well as share information about where they live. Students will be able to use basic strategies for establishment and maintenance of conversations and relationships.
ASL 1A: Winter
This course is part 1 of 2 that introduces the fundamental elements of American Sign Language. Emphasis is placed on the development of basic expressive and receptive skills. Upon completion, students will be comfortable using fingerspelling in order to communicate common names and places. They will know numbers 1-30, and have exposure to number patterns. They will posses basic vocabulary and basic grammar skills for communication. Students will be able to introduce themsleves, and share personal information about their family, and their favorite things.
